Restraint. A word that is absent in the vocabulary
of many individuals. At times, including mine. We always get carried away, especially
when it comes to judging people. It’s the easiest thing to do: judge. Ride your
high horse and look down on supposedly lesser beings. And go to great lengths
just to drive home your point. Exaggerate. Be hysterical. Lie.
Such is the lynch mob mentality many times evident
especially on social media. Lurking in the shadows. Waiting for the next
target. Ready to pounce anytime.
Imagine a lynch mob. Only blind.
Chris Lao. Amalayer. Charice. Nancy Binay. And now,
Vice Ganda.
To establish context, below is the complete
transcript of the segment of Vice Ganda’s jokes on Jessica Soho.
Paano
Nakakatawa no’ng
nagpatimbang kami. Umakyat si Jessica Soho sa weighing scale. Pag-akyat ni
Jessica Soho, tumunog ang weighing scale: “One at a time. One at a time. One at
a time.” So bumaba ulit si Jessica Soho. Nagalit. “Ay, baka sira. Ay ta-try ko
ulit.” So umakyat ulit ng weighing scale si Jessica Soho. Tumunog ang weighing
scale: “Please don’t play with the machine. Don’t play with the machine. One at
a time. I told you one at a time. Don’t play with the machine.” Ay! Nagalit si
Jessica Soho. “Ano ba naman ‘to?! Last try na talaga!” So umakyat ulit si
Jessica Soho sa weighing scale. Tumunog ang weighing scale: “You weigh 180 per
kilo.” So ayaw niya nang magpatimbang.
apple?”
Nakakatawa
nga eh. May boyfriend daw dati si Jessica. Narinig ko lang naman sa mga hindi
mapagkakatiwalaan. Ninakaw daw nung boyfriend yung panty ni Jessica. Tapos pinalabhan.
Nung dinala sa laundry, ang chineckan comforter.
Si
Ma’am Charo tuwang-tuwa pag kabilang channel yung niloloko ko. Bumalik tayo sa
Channel 2.
At the outset, let me tell you that I am not, nor
will I be, defending Vice Ganda. He can very well do that on his own. And his
team of lawyers and supporters. But let us get a few things straight.
Fact 1: Evidently, the central theme of the Jessica
Soho jokes was WEIGHT. Not her achievements. Not her womanhood. Not her value
as a person. NOT RAPE.
Surely, Jessica Soho is not just about her weight. Therefore,
to say that jokes on her being heavy are tantamount to destroying her as a
person is just too much of a stretch, which in itself terribly underestimates
Jessica Soho as a person.
A joke went around a few years back where Jessica
Soho was supposedly on the beach. She was said to be wearing a black wetsuit, about
to go diving, when DENR representatives rushed to the scene. When asked why
they went there, they said they were responding to reports that a butanding had
been stranded on the shallow waters near the shore. How many of you laughed at
that? I’m sure no one. Riiiight.
Did anyone get crucified for that joke at the time?
I highly doubt it. There was no visible target. And people on social media
whose habit is to bash other individuals with or without reason would be too
lazy to do some research.
Fact 2: Jessica Soho was not being bullied or
victimized. According to Shift+F7, to bully is to intimidate, to terrorize, to
persecute, to torment, to frighten, to oppress, to browbeat, to harass. It likewise
offers similar synonyms for the word “victimize”. In the two minutes that Vice
Ganda delivered the Jessica Soho jokes, not once was she bullied or victimized.
It was a joke. Crass, lewd, made in bad taste. But a
joke nonetheless, along the SAME LINES as color jokes, gender jokes, disability
jokes and the like. From time to time, a line is crossed. Did Vice Ganda cross
that line? Maybe.
Needless to say, the answer to that will depend on
each person’s unique sensibilities, values, beliefs, upbringing and outlook in
life. Tell me the greenest joke that you can think of, and I most probably won’t
get offended. Tell me a joke about women’s stereotypical role in the kitchen,
and I will probably take offense. I will probably call you out. Tell me a joke
about what bad drivers all women make and I will most probably run you over
with my car, on reverse.
There is no hard-and-fast rule as to when that line
is crossed. And in the absence of such rule, there must likewise be no fixed punishment,
especially one that is so severe that you decimate the joker to pieces and consider
her or him worthless.
Fact 3: Other celebrities were mentioned in that
segment of the concert, when Vice Ganda created scenarios depicting these
celebrities as bold stars. He mentioned Boy Abunda, Kris Aquino and Gus
Abelgas.
Do you mean to tell me these people were bullied,
too? Were they also victimized? If so, where is the indignation? Where is the
clamor for Vice Ganda’s head, in defense of Abunda, Aquino and Abelgas? What sets
Jessica Soho apart? The rape angle? Come on. He said much worse things about
Kris Aquino, in my opinion.
Come to think of it, would Maki Pulido come to the
rescue of Aiko Melendez, if Vice Ganda happened to name her in that segment,
and not Jessica Soho? Would Jiggy Manicad call Vice Ganda’s attention for
making jokes about Janice De Belen and her weight? Would Mark Zambrano side
with Sharon Cuneta and call for sanctions against Vice Ganda? Think about it.
Let’s face it. The ones who reacted first about the
Jessica Soho jokes were members of GMA’s news department. Why? Most probably
because they are Jessica’s friends, close colleagues. Maybe they saw Jessica
Soho as their mentor, and they felt they had to come to her defense. Admirable.
Justified even. Except in the case of one personality who made it quite obvious
that he was more concerned about network issues than defending a friend.
But to overreact and resort to making judgments
about a man we barely know? To call on people to boycott him? To relegate him
to the lowest of the low scums of the showbiz universe? WHY?
This is where restraint fails most of us. Too many
of us. We are not only carried away. WE LET OURSELVES GET CARRIED AWAY. There is
a consciousness in allowing ourselves to go with the mob, to walk blindly with
everyone else in the direction of the public execution stage. We want to hit,
to injure, to hurt, to punish, to make this scum of the earth suffer, with our
bare hands. Or with our gadgets.
We judge Chris Lao and say he’s an arrogant, stupid
fool for taking on that flooded road. We judge Amalayer for arrogantly shouting
at the station guard and shaming her. We judge Charice for making foolish
choices, for making a global fool of herself. We judge Nancy Binay based on the
color of her skin and on her physical appearance. And we judge Vice Ganda for
his arrogance in taking on THE Jessica Soho and wanting to have her raped.
We already. Misplaced indignation, hypocrisy,
outright lie.
The culprit: COLLECTIVE INSECURITY. Filipinos are
afflicted with such inferiority complex that we are always out to prove
something, to prove ourselves right and better than most everyone else. It is a
mistaken sense of honor and pride. It is wanting to always be right in front of
many. Even at the expense of our own brothers and sisters. As a result, the
first chance that we get, we pounce on the often unwitting victim. We set our
eyes on a target – a celebrity, a politician, a private individual who shot to
fame, or infamy, for some reason – and we beat them to a pulp until there is
nothing left of them. And we feel vindicated.
Sick.
It takes a certain level of maturity to look at
this debacle as a level-headed person would. To many people, Vice Ganda crossed
a line. To them, he should sincerely apologize, as any decent human being
should. But to assemble the mob and to demand his head on a silver platter,
that is just plain and simple horseshit.
To think though that humor has no bounds is also a bit on the other end of the spectrum... Everything is about cultural context... To make a joke about religion and God maybe permitted in the West, but in India and in the Moslem world, you can expect someone to kill you if you make a joke about religion... We must grow in sensitivity.. Humor, like any art, has its bounds, defined by the collective... Just as the collective in the audience took his joke with a grain of salt, there is also another collective that can just as well express outrage... When you make a joke in public, reactions--- be they positive or negative --- come with the territory.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you in many levels!
Deletei can honestly say this is the first blog post (long post) i ever read, grabe nagising yung utak ko :), in this issue i'm on vice ganda part, why nakakapagtaka lang kasi yung "Way" ng mag provoke ng GMA New itinapat nila on ff:
ReplyDelete>ABS-CBN and Globe partnership
>Pag dating ni Vice sa It's Showtime
>and... almost 2 weeks na yung concert
come to think na mas maraming "rape" jokes sa Bubble Gang diba
It is not true that only GMA news people reacted to this joke on Ms. Soho. Even news persons from ABS have expressed disappointment. There is no lynch mob. There are just expressions of disappointment that a person as famous and influential not to mention intelligent would be too proud to apologize. He was not friends with the butt of joke. He was close to Kris and the others. To be safe, why did he not take a kapamilya who is also overweight like Sharon Cuneta to joke about? Humor has boundaries. It is also subject to what is culturally acceptable. I am a fan of Vice if his humor is self-deprecating which is the best kind. I am disappointed not just bec he made a joke on rape bec it was more of a joke on being big and overweight. I am disappointed that he wouldn't admit that this one is out of line and offense was taken and so he should apologize.
ReplyDeletesharon is no longer kapamilya. in fact she detests abs-cbn. :)
.May God bless you vice

Finally an objective view. People are overreacting. His rape joke, IMO, was taken out of context somewhat. It was after all a joke about Jessica Soho's weight, not about being raped per se.
ReplyDeleteNot that it's not offensive, but Pinoys are too sensitive for their own good. We should learn to shrug off things like these.
It's a testament also to Vice's influence. No one will bat an eyelash if these jokes were made by some unknown comedian.
You say it's overreacting because the person offended wasn't even close to you, let's say it was your mother who was publicly joked about being gang banged and a lot of people laughed at it. you wont react? reacting to offending jokes is natural for people especially if you care for them.
DeleteI like your view. Maybe it's high time comedians and generally, filipino artists take the high ground.
ReplyDeleteMy two cents: Vice has already established a name for himself. he's not a struggling stand up comedian who has to use insult comedy to gain popularity. he has a much bigger platform (ABS-CBN) and a wider audience who watches what he do and listens to what he say. with popularity comes responsibility and influence. at the end of the day, if you've offended someone by making that someone specifically the butt of your joke, and that someone was offended, then it is only right that you apologize to that person so you can sleep with peace in your heart.
ReplyDeleteRape, however, was given enough emphasis as the weight joke. We must always remember that Rape is a taboo topic in our country, in fact in every country. As funny as it may sound, it must never be a part of a satirical act especially when you're giving a scenario of someone being raped.
ReplyDeleteFind a rape victim and subtly joke about rape. Get back to me when she decides to shrug it off.
At the end of the day it will boil down to network war.....
It's not about sa rape or kay Ms. Jessica.
Bakit ganun?
ReplyDeleteAll of them are not ok, Lets just respect each other.
DeletePeople, just try to be on Soho's shoes. If you were that BIG as her, can you really be honest you wouldn't get offended or even feel a tiny bit of pain of that joke? How much more your family and friends who respect and love you so much? Yes, nobody would give a fuss over the joke if it were made by some unknown comedian. Exactly. It was made by the most influential person in the Philippines. People watch him everyday, people listen to him, and people admire him. If it were you, you were being made as the object of insulting beyond-the-belt ridicule, you think you would just laugh at your being sooo BIG and be thankful that an inlfuential person like him get to notice you by making you as the object of ridicule at his concert in ARANETA? Limits, people. Limits. May we be a famous comedian, or just a random nobody. Limits.
ReplyDeleteagree! (y)
Deletemadami kasing hypocrite :)
DeleteMadami kasing sasabihin na overreacting kasi hindi naman nila kakilala ung binabastos, pero if i know kapag kung mahal nila sa buhay ung ginanun baka magwala pa sila kakamura
DeleteI strongly agree with you.
DeleteGuys, vice is a stand up comedian. Like all of those people in his trade, this is what they do...they make "okray". I have heard worse spiels than this. This should not offend Ms. Soho. She would be acting immaturely if she would take offense from this. Vice should not apologize because had the tables been turned, he will not take offense in it. Chill, guys. Kulang tayo sa sense of humor eh. Have you heard bubble gang and eat bulaga's slapstick jokes? They are worse.
ReplyDeleteur right..mga tao tlga..kala mo d nanlalait..public figure eh govt officials..personalities etc. sobra ngang laitin..media grabe din manlait to think d pa joke un!!..eat bulaga(pokwang aswang??)bubble gang nilalait c diego at mica(with consent yes, may choice ba ung 2?)..mga dating comedian daw d ganyan..amnesia??..physical pa nga eh sa mga side kicks binabatukan,pinapalo..helooo..ano bah!..maxadong seryoso mga pips..nood n lng ng Vice ganda..hehehe =)
Delete"Don't do unto others what you don't want to do unto you."
Although most of the jokes are half meant true. And as we have noticed that most of the gay comedians are using "panlalait" on their shows. Kaya hamon na lang sa mga comedians na to do another twist and some techniques to their performances like what the star comedians King Dolphy and Prince Vic Sotto did just to make people laugh.
ReplyDeleteSuper agree with this blog. If you watch Bubble Gang and Eat Bulaga's Slapstick Jokes... May kasabihan nga...
This comment has been removed by the author.
Deletei second the motion!
DeleteVice Ganda is a F.O.E (force of evil)
Just my opinion.
ReplyDeleteSo true
DeleteI agree. You don't do that to someone you aren't close with, with a very large audience, and to a highly respected personality.
DeleteVice ganda, Kris aquino, and Boy Abunda are close friends. no wonder that Vice mentioned them in that segment. im not on both sides but also i see a discrepancy of opinions, Vice is not even a friend of Jessica so he shall not make any foolishness about her, Vice even enraged way back then when Tado made mention of being gayish on a group of contestant in Showtime, so no question about Jessica's side.
ReplyDeletei agree.
DeleteVice is pathetic horse! Boycott him is the best ways of letting him/her know that joke isnt not a good venue destroying one's hard earned good reputations!
ReplyDeleteThe issue was publicized by the other network to make a commotion nothing to blame but media. When I say media rating specific.
ReplyDeleteVice is at his best pag nanglalait,so insensitive, jan magaling, pero sa movies nya boring yan ,me script eh
ReplyDeleteAng point dito is 'wag magjoke ng ganyan. si vice before (kay tado) ay galit na galit na siya tapos parang ganyan dn ginawa niya kay ms. Jessica Soho na nagjojoke lang siya... Diba? Kung ayaw nio gawin sainyo un, matuto lumugar. Naniniwala akong matalino si Vice at alam kong kaya niya magjoke ng walang masasaktang tao (both rape victims and ms. Jessica soho).
about the rape scene, I think Vice did not really intend to hit rape victims, remember when Jhong hilario and Lito Lapid guested on GGV, there was a rape scene and Vice made it as a joke, until now there is no issue from that, it's just that concert cause GMA can't have that record breaking concert that's why they're putting fuel in the fire.
ReplyDeleteLet's not be shallow-minded here. GMA is not that shallow to bring up such issue thinking it will make their network take up a notch with ABS. Really. Network war is not the issue here. Although it is being dragged in the issue, nonetheless, it's not it. We're talking about morale here. And making people laugh and happy at the expense of others. I'm not a Kapuso nor a Kapamilya here. I rarely even watch their shows; both networks. It just happened that an average person like me got personally hurt for a respected personality that is Jessica Soho for having been ridiculed before thousands of people - both ordinary and well-known people. Even the president of ABS herself was laughing out loud on that joke. And you say that no offense should have been taken from the other party? And it's ARANETA. How many thousands of people were there watching? Really. Let's be watchful of our behavior sometimes. Let's think things through a hundred times or more before putting them into words and actions.
Deleteabout mam charo, along with the others, surely laughed at those issues, and admit it, when you watched the video or the concert itself, you laughed. coz that was meant for a joke, but in the later part, WE realized that VICE was wrong, it took time for us realize didn't we? so don't question mam charo coz she's only been exposed on tv when she's laughing proving that Vice's concert was really that fun, and we don't know that mam charo was able realize it and got that sad face, and don't tell me they got a dumb cameraman to show charo's disappointed face coz that will ruin the concert especially it has a ppv, and also they are not expecting these issues.
DeleteAt the end of the day do you think what Vice Ganda did in his concert was right??
ReplyDeletehe wants to end this issue in a silent and peaceful way. Madaming opinions and sides ng issue n to. But the only key is to apologize personally, but Jessica refused to talk to him (d daw maganda ang timpla nya) so Vice sent his apolog yon national TV. Wag nang gatungan pa, tama man o mali. It's done. :D
ReplyDeleteThe Blog is really true ponto per ponto hindi sha binash or binully as in joke lang kasi jessicasoho jokes is all over na in the net wag kayong ipokrita!kaya jessica makiride ka na lang wag kang feelingera and so hindi ka deserving maging VP if ur such a bitter and supersensitive saan na ang malayang pagiisip!
May pang lalait bah d ba wala?
DeleteJokes may be delivered in an insulting fashion, and insult is a form of bullying. And tell that to Vice for being such a hypocrite. Think before you speak :)
DeleteFACT 1:even if it's mostly about the weight (to which let's point out here that no reaction was ever given to), thing is, they included the rape part. and they included a respected media personality. it may have been just a segment of the whole thing but it's still there.
ReplyDeleteFACT2: it was not just rape, it was GANG rape. rape in itself is already taboo enough in this society, what more the other one.
gma reporters don't usually get irate on showbiz drama and news. but look how they reacted, that one TINY BIT of segment must have hit them right home (Ms. Soho is an executive officer on the other network and long time friend for sure).
looking back now, it would have probably been best for all if ONLY THE WEIGHT JOKES were included. at least then, not a damn thing would be given.

ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletePoints raised in this blog are totally out of context. Think-- taboo jokes. Weight and violence issues on women..these are 2 things which should not be trivialized. Worse, Vice Ganda's meager intelligence should not in any way discuss such social issues nor his foul mouth should utter respectable names as Ms. Soho's. Seriously, it is just like Kris Aquino conversing with THE Margaret Thatcher. Know thy place, it gets you to places.
No arguments about that.
ReplyDeleteNot really siding with Vice this time, but what frustrates me:
If that happened to me my first question is ka biro-an ba kita? Are we good friends for that matter? Vice should choose the right person to joke about, piliin mo mga kaibigan mo or people na ka level mo. Not because sikat ka na you can just choose anyone to ridicule. Ms Soho has worked hard and has been in the business for so long to be in her present stature and doesn't deserve to be used as a laughing stock in a comedy show by someone who has been in the business for only a few years and has gained fame only through being a comedian and crying out vulgar or not too pleasant jokes. I have nothing against Vice work as being a comedian but he has to think twice, thrice, a million times before he opens his mouth kung sino ang pwede niyang gawing katatawanan...not everyone likes him o kaibigan niya.....
ReplyDeleteInteresting insights!
ReplyDeleteIt's sad, however, how jokes have become funny only if they are mean. I get that the media hype has made this worse and sensationalized but I guess the one thing I've realized here is how we have come to accept that rape jokes are still a thing. The joke may have focused entirely on Jessica's weight and then related it to being gang raped, but no matter the subtlety, I just cannot accept how rape should ever be a joke. Maybe you're thinking I am expanding too much but rape jokes have always been quite an entertainment for most of us whether we tell it to our family and friends and it's just disturbing how this is so. I read a meme the other day which says, "Tape her and rape her" with a picture of a pretty woman with her mouth taped.
I am not saying that Vice Ganda is a devil. I dont think I would ever judge her as someone immoral just as some people do ,and ridiculously relate it to her gender, because people can learn from their mistakes. I think though that this incident is a wake-up call for everyone to discern which jokes are funny or cruel.
Im not being a hypocrite because I;ve also had my share in fat and rape jokes in the past. But after working for an NGO which deals with women's rights, you cant help but rethink and evaluate the words that you may say. I've stopped saying "O, pumapayat ka ata" because one time I said to a girl who has leukemia and the shame I felt was unbearable. I just dont want to shrug off jokes like these because jokes are half-meant right and they are in a way a form of communicating realities in society. I would have given Vice Ganda the credit if she made a joke that actually criticized how we view people, in this case, women in society. But then she reinforced only the insecurities women feel about themselves.
As I mentioned, I worked in an NGO for women's rights and I just cannot count how many times some woman has told me she was raped or that she was beaten because she was ugly or fat. Maybe Im being too overly sensitive but I cringe at every joke made in reference to abuse and violence against women, no matter how subtle or grave it is.
This incident is an eye-opener. We have to think very hard if we actually want this form of entertainment, not only from Vice Ganda but from other other stand-up comedians or performers out there. Because I surely don't.
Would you like your sons and daughters to grow up exposed on these type of jokes..
ReplyDeleteIf I were Jessica Soho, I would even yell and curse vice ganda on the phone when he called earlier..but she still manage to compose herself, talk and said to vice in a well manner tone that 'I don't think so I wanna talk to you'..and also thank him to calling..
Two different people and personalities..two different approach..one question..MORALITY!
Are you going to be passive if one day, somebody from you family, or if you were insulted by someone and at the end spill out the line "joke lang ha"..
Let's accept it, yeah, probably bubble gang and eat bulaga did the same rape joke..but it was not focused on a certain person DELIVERED SMOOTHLY..and Jessica, also is a single woman who, prolly too, would love to find his soulmate..this may have an impact on her physical, emotional and psychological state..the lines that were delivered are very offensive for Jessica..
Regarding the network War..
Yes, it was 2 weeks after the said concert and not everyone who EMPHATIZED where there at the BIGDOME..people knew the exact joke that was delivered thru Youtube..and the outrage started there..I cannot blame the GMA reporters who twitted instantly after they watched the clip..its their superior that is being attacked..its a normal act to defend your base and your superior..maybe they focused on the rape joke..and probably their real intention is on defense of Jessica..its a NORMAL REACTION.
Vice Ganda onced experience this unusual joke from Tado..he got offended coz he's gay..he stood up in behalf of all the gay people, its normal..
And the reason why it was sensationalized is because the people involved are from different networks and from different field..if he joked about ruby rodriguez, that might not have the same impact..coz they are both commedians..what ignites the overflowing suport for her is, Jessica Soho is one of the most respected journalist in the country..as famous and might be more influencial than vice ganda..2013 Awardee of READERS DIGEST ASIA-MOST TRUSTED PERSONALITY IN THE PHILLIPINES AND MOST OF ALL SHE IS THE CURRENT VICE PRESIDENT OF THE NEWS AND CURRENT AFFAIRS OF GMA7, THE CHIEF OF CREDIBILITY AND INTEGRITY..then suddenly somebody like Vice Ganda(the most influencial comedian in ABS-CBN) will joke about this her coz she's overweight and is wearing a comforter size underwear..THAT IS OBVIOUSLY NOT FAIR AND FOUL..
People from all walks of life stood up for Jessica..coz they felt the poor Jessica doing nothing against anyone and being the subject of this cruel act by a comedian who just want the people laugh about his jokes..Filipinoes prove that we are now sensitive enough to EMPHATIZED..AND I WILL NEVER LET MY SON/DAUGHTER TO GROW UP WATCHING THE SAME ACT THAT MADE ME REALIZE LWHO EVER YOU ARE AND WHATEVER YOUR WEIGHT AND WAISTLINE IS..NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO MAKE FUN OF YOU."
"Let's accept it, yeah, probably bubble gang and eat bulaga did the same rape joke..but it was not focused on a certain person DELIVERED SMOOTHLY.."
Deleteso does this statement mean that we can tolerate Bubble Gang's rape jokes just because hindi naka-focus ang jokes nila sa certain person? Pero hindi po ba ang pino-point out po rito is, RAPE IS NOT A JOKE, MAY BINABANGGIT MANG SPECIFIC NA TAO O WALA. Thanks. :)

first, jokes that are highly offensive can be tolerated if it is done among friends. Ms Soho and Mr Vice Ganda were never friends. If you have an overweight child and is made a laughing stock in school, what would you call this? And what would you tell your child? What would you do? Would you tell your child that it's OK since the joke is about WEIGHT and not about him or her being gang-raped?
ReplyDeleteopinyon ko lng..kung sa panlalait lng number 1 ang pinoy, aminin man o hindi..once in ur life even in ur thoughts, u laugh at someone..JOke means biro so u jaz have to ignore it!!..ive read a lot of comments, opinions, mga critics and media grabe din cla manlait and worse degrading pa and to think it wasnt a JOKE!! so, those public figures who suffered from that bullying and discrimation they dont react but they accepted it as a challenge and made themselves better..our president and some govt officials,.look how filipinos bullied them, degrade without even respect..look around you, come to think of it..
ReplyDelete..evrytime i watch VICE jokes..yes, he used different public figures..but after i watch them..i didnt remember changing the way i look at those pipol bin used and didnt even remembering their names after but the joke itself..2 wks after the said concert..no one ever posted about JS bein bullied till they react about it..coz pipol who watched d concert after leaving the dome, evryone r happy not bcoz of JS or panlalait bcoz of d COMEDY CONCERT itself..
ReplyDeleteNice article...for one that joke made by Vice on Jessica Soho was really offensive. His jokes on his friends Kris, Boy Abunda, etc. might be okay since they're friends and they know each other well. But then after hi public apology and Jessica Soho's acceptance of that should be the point where we have to move on and to each his own business. The lynch mob and judging people right away are very good points, too. People have natural tendencies to become part of the mob in condemning someone like Vice to prove their righteousness. But then we have to think who are we to judge fiercely and not forgive?
ReplyDeleteI agree on every aspect of this opinion.
ReplyDeleteWith all of these perspectives hindi lang si Vice ang nag-iisang hypocrite sa mundo. Aminin na nating both sides ay may mali, even the media and also us commentators. Well, we humans are rationale by nature so what's up with arguing which side has done no good?
